August 9, 2015 - Gandalf refers to himself as the "wielder of the flame of Anor" (essentially the power of "light") and the balrog as the "flame of Udûn" (essentially "shadow"). Since they are both technically Maiar, it's an apt comparison to make. ... First off, that's pretty funny. And secondly I've only seen it referred to as Durin's Bane. Does it have a name given to him by Morgoth?

As far as Balrog names go there's only 1 known individual: Gothmog. There's also "Durin's Bane", but that's not much of a name, it's more a title if anything. So I used the name 'Gothmog' as inspiration for the names in this generator, all of which will follow the same darker and larger tones, but with a little variation sprinkled in here and there.
